A312 TP304 is an austenitic stainless steel designed with a high-quality nickel-chromium alloy ratio. ASTM A312 TP304 alloy exhibits excellent corrosion resistance and oxidation resistance under various stress environments. This versatile alloy possesses excellent mechanical properties, with a minimum tensile strength of 75 ksi and a minimum yield strength of 30 ksi. ASTM A312 TP304 steel pipe is available in hot-rolled or cold-rolled forms. These pipes range in wall thickness from 0.8 mm to 12 mm and are offered in various sizes and specifications to meet diverse project requirements.

 

Components of this grade can be manufactured as seamless, welded, and two-dimensional structures. Each type has its unique characteristics, making it suitable for different applications. ASME SA 312 TP 304 seamless steel pipe is produced using an extrusion process, where hot billets are extruded through a metal tube. This material exhibits resistance to high temperatures and pressures. This type of pipe is slightly more expensive than welded pipe. ASTM A312 TP 304 welded pipe is not suitable for pressure vessel classes. In these modules, plate or strip is rolled and welded through a series of shop welding processes. A312 TP304 welded pipe is relatively inexpensive and comes in sizes ranging from 1/8 inch to 36 inches in nominal diameter (NB). This type of pipe is versatile and designed for applications with outer diameters ranging from 6.35 mm to 114.3 mm. The robust and durable SA 312 TP 304 ERW pipe uses a longitudinal welding process to precisely weld metal into the pipe shape. This type of pipe is extremely durable and requires no filler material during welding.
