ASTM A312 TP310S stainless steel seamless heat exchanger tubes

310S stainless steel seamless heat exchanger tubes
310S stainless steel seamless tubing is used in heat exchangers due to its excellent high-temperature strength, resistance to oxidation and corrosion up to 1100°C (2012°F), and good weldability due to its low carbon content. These heat-resistant austenitic tubes are made from high-chromium and high-nickel alloys that form a protective oxide layer at high temperatures. Manufactured to ASTM A312 standards, they are ideal for harsh operating conditions in heat exchangers, furnaces, and petrochemical applications, where durability and reliability are critical.
What are 310 stainless steel used for?
310 stainless steel plate is often used in harsh, high-temperature environments where both heat resistance and corrosion resistance are required. Some common applications for 310 stainless steel plate include heat exchangers, furnace components, refractory anchors, power plants, and chemical processing equipment.

ASTM A312 TP310S is a highly important high-alloy, austenitic, heat-resistant stainless steel pipe, renowned for its excellent resistance to high-temperature oxidation and good corrosion resistance. It is widely used in various oxidizing environments. ASTM A312 standard requirements allow for both seamless and welded pipe production. Seamless pipe is more commonly used for high-temperature and high-pressure service and covers a wide range of nominal pipe sizes. Regarding heat treatment, ASTM A312 stainless steel pipe is typically supplied in the solution annealed condition (heating to ≥1040°C followed by rapid cooling) to dissolve carbides, achieve a uniform austenitic structure, optimize corrosion resistance, and relieve stress.

The core of the TP310S seamless stainless steel pipe's compositional design lies in high chromium and nickel. High chromium imparts top-tier resistance to high-temperature oxidation and spalling, and also offers exceptionally high resistance to high-temperature corrosion in high-sulfur environments. This is primarily due to the chromium's ability to form a dense and stable protective chromium oxide layer at high temperatures. The high nickel content imparts a stable austenitic structure to the TP310S seamless stainless steel pipe, preventing harmful phase transformations and exhibiting excellent resistance to reducing acid corrosion. The pipe maintains excellent ductility and creep resistance at high temperatures, while also improving its carburization resistance.
