Hastelloy C276 vs Hastelloy C22 Fasteners

Hastelloy C22 fasteners offer excellent overall corrosion resistance, particularly in chloride environments, and exhibit superior resistance to pitting and crevice corrosion due to their higher chromium content. Hastelloy C276 fasteners are better suited for harsh reducing environments and high-temperature applications, and offer superior corrosion resistance in these conditions. C22 is often preferred for its excellent long-term performance in various oxidizing/reducing chemical processes, while C276 is generally more suitable and cost-effective for specific high-temperature, acid-resistant applications.

02

What is the ASTM equivalent grade for Hastelloy C22?

Hastelloy C22 corresponds to the American standard material grade ASTM B564 UNS N06022. As a high-performance, highly corrosion-resistant material, it possesses excellent oxidation resistance, acid and alkali resistance, corrosion resistance, high-temperature performance, and good mechanical properties.

Hastelloy C22

Hastelloy C22/C276 offers advantages such as precise dimensions, robust structure, stable performance, and cost-effectiveness. Hastelloy C22 fasteners are made from a nickel-molybdenum alloy and are suitable for a variety of industrial and everyday applications. The addition of molybdenum to the C276 alloy significantly improves the material's strength and durability, maintaining excellent performance even in high-temperature environments. This alloy is suitable for welding in most aqueous environments. Hastelloy C276 has comparable corrosion resistance to C22 and does not experience intergranular precipitation in reducing environments. Meanwhile, the nickel-chromium-molybdenum alloy C22 exhibits excellent resistance to pitting and crevice corrosion in most corrosive environments.
