The ASTM A285/A285M specification covers low to medium tensile strength carbon steel plates that can be made from acid-killed, semi-blind, coated, or flange steel. What is steel plate for pressure vessels?
Pressure Vessel Steel Plate covers a range of steel grades that are designed for use in pressure vessels, boilers, heat exchangers and any other vessel containing high pressure gas or liquid. Familiar examples include gas cylinders for cooking and welding, oxygen cylinders for diving, and many of the large metal tanks you see in an oil refinery or chemical plant.
