Product description
316L is a low carbon version of 316. Same as 316 except lower carbon content. Low carbon content prevents the formation of carbide deposits in the temperature range from 800°F to 1500°F. It is usually used for welding large areas.
Grade 316L has stronger antioxidant capacity than Grade 316 in the marine environment. It is resistant to low temperatures and exhibits better overall strength.
Grade 316L can be hardened by cold working. Shows good weldability. Post-weld annealing is not required.
