For exporting steel pipes, proper packaging and container loading are essential to prevent damage.
Here's a simple overview:
1.Container Size and Pipe Length
- 20-foot container: Holds pipes up to 5.8 meters long.
- 40-foot container: Holds pipes up to 11.7 meters long.
- Open-top or flat-rack containers: Suitable for pipes over 11.7 meters, allowing parts of the pipe to extend out (usually up to 12-13 meters).
2.Loading Methods
- Horizontal Loading: Short pipes are placed horizontally on the container floor in layers and tied securely.
- Diagonal Loading: For pipes that slightly exceed container length, angled placement can maximize space.
- Extended Loading: For very long pipes, open-top or flat-rack containers allow for pipe ends to extend outward.
3.Securing and Protection
- Gap Fillers: Use wood blocks, foam pads, or rubber to prevent pipes from shifting.
- Tight Binding: Steel or plastic straps hold pipe bundles securely in place.
- Wood Pallets or Frames: Add support under or around pipes to prevent movement during transit.
