For example, highway guardrails made of Q355NH avoid frequent repainting (a major maintenance cost for ordinary steel guardrails) and resist corrosion from road salt (used in winter de-icing) and rain.

Port/harbor facilities: Dock fenders, container storage racks, and coastal railway tracks. In marine atmospheres (high salt, high humidity), Q355NH's protective rust layer prevents rapid corrosion, which is far more durable than ordinary steel (even with basic coatings).

Industrial plants & warehouses: Steel frames, roof trusses, and wall supports for open-air or semi-enclosed factories (e.g., chemical plants, power plants) where corrosive gases (e.g., sulfur dioxide) or moisture are present. Its corrosion resistance reduces the need for regular coating touch-ups.

Public buildings & landscape structures: Open-air pavilions, stadium stands, pedestrian bridges, and sculptures. Many modern landscape projects use Q355NH for its "rust aesthetic" (stable brown patina) while ensuring structural safety-eliminating the need for anti-corrosion painting and maintaining a natural appearance.

High-rise building auxiliary structures: External fire escapes, air conditioning platforms, and water tank supports. These components are hard to maintain after installation, so Q355NH's long service life (without frequent upkeep) is a key advantage.

Projects in this field often involve corrosive media or harsh outdoor environments, making Q355NH a practical choice.

 

Power systems: Steel supports for wind turbine towers (exposed to high-altitude wind, rain, and UV radiation), and structural frames for solar power plants (outdoor, long-term exposure to sunlight and humidity).

Environmental protection facilities: Steel structures for sewage treatment plants (exposed to humid, corrosive air), waste incineration plant flue gas treatment systems, and landfill covers. Q355NH resists corrosion from harmful gases (e.g., hydrogen sulfide) and moisture, extending the structure's service life.
