INCOLOY 825, also known as Alloy 825 or WAIOv825, is a versatile engineering nickel alloy with excellent resistance to corrosion from acids and alkalis in both oxidizing and reducing environments.
The plate is manufactured according to ASME SB424 and ASTM B424 standards.
ASME SB424 and ASTM B424 are standards that apply to plates, bars, pipes, fittings, and other forms.
Sheets and Coil Strips:ASTM B424/ASME SB424
Welded Pipes and Welded Tubing:ASTM B704/ASME SB704
Seamless Pipes:ASTM B163/ASME SB163
Bars and Forgings:ASTMB425/ASME SB425
The alloy's composition provides effective resistance to stress corrosion cracking. It performs well against various corrosive substances, such as sulfuric acid, phosphoric acid, nitric acid, organic acids, and alkalis like sodium hydroxide, potassium hydroxide, and hydrochloric acid solutions.
INCOLOY 825 is resistant to boiling sulfuric acid concentrations up to 40% and sulfuric acid concentrations up to 60% at temperatures below 80°C, as well as all concentrations of sulfuric acid at temperatures up to 66°C. It also shows excellent corrosion resistance to phosphoric acid in different concentrations, solutions containing ammonia, and seawater environments where pitting and stress corrosion are concerns. Additionally, the alloy has good resistance to intergranular corrosion.
The high overall performance of Alloy N08825 is especially evident in nuclear fuel dissolvers, where it handles various corrosive media like sulfuric acid, nitric acid, and sodium hydroxide in the same equipment. Common standards for INCOLOY 825 include UNS N08825, 2.4858, ASTM B424, and ASME SB424.
