Mechanical Properties (Precipitation Hardening):
Monel K-500 (UNS N05500 / W.Nr. 2.4375) is a nickel-copper alloy that combines the excellent corrosion resistance of Monel 400 (2.4360) with greater strength and hardness. Precipitation hardening is achieved by adding aluminum and titanium and heat-treating under controlled conditions to form Ni3(Ti, Al) submicroscopic particles. The alloy does not exhibit magnetism above -101°C.
Typical applications of Monel K-500
Typical applications of Monel K-500 include chains and cables, connecting elements and marine engineering wires; pumps and valve components for chemical processing; pulp processing blades and cutters in pulp production; logging probes and tools, pump shafts and propellers in oil drilling; non-magnetic protection devices, safety valves in oil and gas production; sensors and other electronic components.

FAQ
Q1: What is the main advantage of Monel K-500 over Monel 400?
A: Yield Strength. While both offer the same corrosion resistance, K-500 can be age-hardened to achieve over three times the load-bearing capacity, making it the only choice for high-torque shafts and structural marine fasteners.
Q2: How do you prevent Hydrogen Embrittlement in your K-500 bars?
A: We utilize VIM+ESR melting to ensure ultra-low impurities and strictly follow the solution-annealing and aging protocols required by NACE MR0175. This creates a homogeneous microstructure that is resistant to hydrogen diffusion.
Q3: Can Monel K-500 be machined easily?
A: In the annealed state, it is manageable. However, it work-hardens rapidly. As a Manufacturer, we provide Centerless Ground bright rods that reduce your initial setup time and tool wear on your CNC floor.
Q4: Do you offer bulk discounts for major offshore field developments?
A: Absolutely. As a direct factory, we offer tiered Wholesale Pricing and priority inventory scheduling for large-scale energy infrastructure projects.
