Differences between S355J0W steel and S355J0WP steel

As the material rusts when exposed to atmospheric elements, the material builds its own protective layer which prevents the steel from further oxidation. Therefore S355J0W coil, like all weathering steels, offers excellent, cost effective protection against atmospheric conditions without the need for painting or external treatment. S355J0WP steel tends to be used for structures which use thinner materials.
There are little differences between S355J0W sheet and S355J0WP sheet in technical requirements.

S355J0W steel is widely used in high-speed rail bogies, welding, bolting and riveting parts. S355J0WP steel plate enhances the ability to resist atmospheric corrosion at ambient temperature. In order to achieve corrosion resistance, certain alloy elements are added, such as: P, Cu, Cr, Ni, Mo. Under various climatic conditions A protective oxide layer is formed on the metal surface.
