Difference between 316 and 316Ti stainless steel seamless pipes
The properties of 316TI stainless steel are almost identical to those of 316 stainless steel. The only difference is that 316TI stainless steel has added titanium. The purpose of adding titanium is to reduce the risk of intergranular corrosion in the temperature range of 425 to 815 degrees Celsius.

Will 316 stainless steel rust?
Yes, 316 stainless steel can rust, but due to its high molybdenum content, its corrosion resistance is far superior to other grades of stainless steel. Molybdenum helps prevent pitting and crevice corrosion caused by chlorides, especially in marine environments. Rusting can still occur if the protective passivation layer is damaged, or if the steel is in extremely harsh environments where salt and debris can easily accumulate in crevices.

What is 316 Stainless Steel?
316 stainless steel is a chromium-nickel-based steel. Due to the addition of molybdenum to its composition, it exhibits greater resistance to a wide range of substances. Molybdenum gives 316 stainless steel overall superior corrosion resistance, especially against chloride pitting. Compared to other stainless steels, 316 stainless steel is better suited for high-temperature environments. Its heat resistance is superior to that of 304 stainless steel, but it shares many similarities with 304 stainless steel in other aspects. The corrosion resistance of 316 stainless steel is particularly effective in chemical environments such as those in the paper and textile industries. This metal is also widely used in food processing equipment, chemical processing, nuts and bolts, and medical implants. While this metal has some flexibility under cold and hot working processes, it cannot be work-hardened by heat treatment, and its weldability is generally considered inferior to that of 304 stainless steel. However, it is still superior to many other brands of stainless steel.
What is 316Ti Stainless Steel?
316Ti stainless steel, also known as 316 stabilized grade stainless steel, is one of two types of 316 stainless steel recommended for high-temperature environments. This grade contains a small amount of titanium, typically only 0.5%. While retaining many of the properties of other 316 stainless steel grades, the addition of titanium protects 316Ti from precipitates at high temperatures, even after prolonged exposure to high-temperature environments. Molybdenum is also added to the composition of 316Ti. Like other 316 stainless steel grades, molybdenum enhances its corrosion resistance, prevents pitting corrosion from chloride solutions, and improves its strength at high temperatures. However, the titanium content also complicates its high-temperature performance, as titanium makes 316Ti less prone to precipitates at high temperatures. Furthermore, the metal exhibits acid resistance, such as resistance to sulfuric acid, hydrochloric acid, and acidic sulfates. 316Ti is commonly used in heat exchangers, papermaking equipment, and construction components in marine environments.
