ASTM A790 S32205 High-strength Corrosion-Resistant Duplex Stainless Steel Pipes for Marine Industry

ASTM A790 S32205 High-strength Corrosion-Resistant Duplex Stainless Steel Pipes for Marine Industry
ASTM A790 S32205 pipe is a high-strength, corrosion-resistant duplex stainless steel ideal for marine applications due to its excellent resistance to chloride stress corrosion cracking and pitting. Its key properties include high yield strength (approximately 550 MPa or 80,000 psi) and tensile strength (approximately 800 MPa or 116,000 psi), allowing for thinner wall designs while maintaining excellent weldability and low-temperature toughness. Suitable for corrosive environments such as seawater, its durability reduces maintenance requirements.
Will 2205 stainless steel rust?
2205 stainless steel is a duplex stainless steel, meaning it combines the properties of both austenitic and ferritic stainless steels, making it extremely strong and corrosion-resistant. It is particularly adept at resisting pitting and crevice corrosion, both of which are caused by moisture or salt trapped in tiny cracks or crevices.

Gnee Steel is a professional manufacturer of high-performance duplex stainless steel products with over 18 years of experience serving the global energy and chemical industries. Our ASTM A790 S32205 seamless duplex stainless steel tubes combine exceptional corrosion resistance with superior mechanical strength to meet the most demanding application requirements.

Machining and Surface Treatment
Heat Treatment: Cannot be hardened by heat treatment, but can be work-hardened. Solution treatment (annealing) is typically performed between 1020-1100℃, followed by rapid cooling.
Welding: Good weldability, but typically requires welding wire such as ER2209.
Delivery Conditions: Available in seamless or welded form, with various surface treatments including pickling, polishing, or bright annealing.

Gnee Steel specializes in the production of a wide range of stainless steel products. Gnee Steel's product packaging includes: Steel Strapping: Pipes with an outer diameter of 3 inches or less are typically strapped together with polypropylene film to prevent rust during ocean shipping, and then secured with steel strapping. Wooden Cases/Crates: Pipes are typically packaged in wooden cases or crates to protect the pipes during transportation, especially those that are longer or have larger diameters. Seaworthy Export Packaging: Suppliers typically use standard seaworthy export packaging methods, which may include a variety of materials and techniques to protect the pipes during transportation. Tarpaulin Packaging: This prevents rain, seawater, and other external factors from penetrating the export crates during transportation. Gnee Steel specializes in the production and sale of alloy materials. Gnee Steel's products are widely used in the aerospace, chemical, power, automotive, and nuclear energy sectors, and we can provide customized alloy material solutions based on customer needs.
