ASTM A312 TP321H Stainless Steel Seamless Pipe for Petrochemical Industry
ASTM A312 TP321H is a seamless austenitic stainless steel tube widely used in the petrochemical industry due to its excellent high-temperature strength, corrosion resistance, and weldability, particularly suitable for environments above 800°F (427°C). The "H" indicates a higher carbon content than standard 321, enhancing its high-temperature strength; the added titanium acts as a stabilizer, preventing intergranular corrosion after welding. Its key properties include a minimum tensile strength of 515 MPa and a minimum yield strength of 205 MPa, making it suitable for demanding applications such as heat exchangers and chemical processing.

What are the differences between 321 and 321H stainless steel?
The main difference between 321 and 321H stainless steel lies in their carbon content. 321H has a higher carbon content (0.04-0.10%) than standard 321 (maximum 0.08%). This higher carbon content gives 321H superior strength and high-temperature creep resistance, making it more suitable for high-temperature structural applications. Both grades of stainless steel are stabilized with titanium stabilizers to prevent carbide precipitation during welding and to resist intergranular corrosion.

ASTM A312 TP321H stainless steel seamless tube is a high-temperature and corrosion-resistant material designed for applications in the petrochemical, power generation, and chemical processing industries. It belongs to the 300 series of austenitic stainless steels and is particularly renowned for its excellent strength and durability under high-temperature conditions.
Key Properties of ASTM A312 TP321H Stainless Steel Seamless Tube
Material Composition:
1. TP321H is a stabilized stainless steel alloy with added titanium (Ti) to prevent carbide precipitation during welding and at high temperatures.
"H" indicates a higher carbon content, enhancing its creep strength in high-temperature applications.
2. High Temperature Resistance: Designed to withstand prolonged high temperatures (up to 900°C or 1652°F) without loss of mechanical strength or formation of harmful carbides.
Suitable for heat exchangers, superheater tubes, and other high-temperature environments.
3. Corrosion Resistance: Excellent resistance to oxidation and intergranular corrosion due to the stabilizing effect of titanium.
Performs well in environments containing acids, salts, and other corrosive substances.
4. Seamless Tube Construction: The seamless construction ensures uniform tube strength and eliminates potential weak points from welded joints.
Ideal for applications requiring high pressure and high-temperature stability.
321H Stainless Steel Seamless Tube Applications
ASTM A312 TP321H stainless steel seamless pipes are widely used in industries requiring high performance at elevated temperatures. Some typical applications include:
Heat exchangers and condensers
Boilers and superheaters
Furnace components
Oil and gas pipelines
Chemical processing equipment
Power plants

Gnee Steel specializes in the production of a wide range of stainless steel products. Gnee Steel's product packaging includes: Steel Strapping: Pipes with an outer diameter of 3 inches or less are typically strapped together with polypropylene film to prevent rust during ocean shipping, and then secured with steel strapping. Wooden Cases/Crates: Pipes are typically packaged in wooden cases or crates to protect the pipes during transportation, especially those that are longer or have larger diameters. Seaworthy Export Packaging: Suppliers typically use standard seaworthy export packaging methods, which may include a variety of materials and techniques to protect the pipes during transportation. Tarpaulin Packaging: This prevents rain, seawater, and other external factors from penetrating the export crates during transportation. Gnee Steel specializes in the production and sale of alloy materials. Gnee Steel's products are widely used in the aerospace, chemical, power, automotive, and nuclear energy sectors, and we can provide customized alloy material solutions based on customer needs.
