ASTM A312 TP310S Austenitic Stainless Steel Seamless Heat Exchanger Tubes

ASTM A312 TP310S Austenitic Stainless Steel Seamless Heat Exchanger Tubes
ASTM A312 TP310S is a low-carbon austenitic stainless steel commonly used in the manufacture of seamless heat exchanger tubes due to its high-temperature strength and corrosion resistance. It exhibits excellent oxidation resistance at temperatures up to 1100°C (2010°F) under mild cyclic conditions and possesses good mechanical properties, such as high tensile strength (minimum 525 MPa) and yield strength (minimum 205 MPa), making it suitable for applications involving high temperatures, mild corrosion, and cyclic heating. Major applications include heat exchangers, furnaces, and chemical equipment.
What is 310S stainless steel?
310S stainless steel is a high-temperature resistant chromium-nickel austenitic stainless steel with high creep strength. It can withstand temperatures up to 2000˚F (approximately 1093℃) in dry air and is not easily oxidized. At high temperatures, 310S stainless steel forms a tough oxide scale that is not easily peeled off, and it performs better than 309 stainless steel in thermal cycling applications.

Comparison of ASTM A312 TP310S Stainless Steel with Other Materials
Compared to TP304/TP316: While TP310S may not have the best room temperature corrosion resistance, its high-temperature performance is far superior. It is not suitable for room temperature corrosive environments.
Compared to TP321H: Both can be used in high-temperature environments, but TP310S has a higher chromium-nickel content, resulting in superior oxidation and carburization resistance. It is typically used in furnace areas with higher temperatures and harsher atmospheres.
Core Advantage: The irreplaceable characteristic of TP310S lies in its extremely high chromium content, making it the preferred economical alloy for operation in oxidizing and carburizing environments above 980°C.
Main Applications of ASTM A312 TP310S Stainless Steel Seamless Tubes
Food processing equipment, especially in beer brewing, milk processing, and winemaking.
Kitchen countertops, sinks, basins, equipment, and appliances
Architectural paneling, railings, and trim
Chemical containers (including transport containers)
Heat exchangers
Woven or welded mesh screens for mining, quarrying, and water filtration

Gnee Steel specializes in the production of a wide range of stainless steel products. Gnee Steel's product packaging includes: Steel Strapping: Pipes with an outer diameter of 3 inches or less are typically strapped together with polypropylene film to prevent rust during ocean shipping, and then secured with steel strapping. Wooden Cases/Crates: Pipes are typically packaged in wooden cases or crates to protect the pipes during transportation, especially those that are longer or have larger diameters. Seaworthy Export Packaging: Suppliers typically use standard seaworthy export packaging methods, which may include a variety of materials and techniques to protect the pipes during transportation. Tarpaulin Packaging: This prevents rain, seawater, and other external factors from penetrating the export crates during transportation. Gnee Steel specializes in the production and sale of alloy materials. Gnee Steel's products are widely used in the aerospace, chemical, power, automotive, and nuclear energy sectors, and we can provide customized alloy material solutions based on customer needs.
