Applications of 321 and 321H grade stainless steel plates

Applications of 321 and 321H grade stainless steel plates
321 and 321H stainless steels are titanium-stabilized austenitic grades used for high-temperature service (up to ~900°C), offering excellent resistance to oxidation and intergranular corrosion after welding, with 321H having higher carbon for better creep strength. Key applications include aerospace (manifolds, exhaust systems), chemical/petrochemical plants (piping, tanks, heat exchangers, furnaces), and thermal processing (furnace parts, boiler tubes, expansion joints, stack liners).
What are the properties of 321H stainless steel?
General Properties
321H stainless steel exhibits excellent resistance to intergranular corrosion within the chromium carbide precipitation temperature range of 800–1500°F (427–816°C). This alloy remains resistant to oxidation at 1500°F (816°C), and its creep and stress fracture properties are superior to those of 304 and 304L alloys.

321 Stainless Steel Sheet
Applications: 321 stainless steel sheet is widely used in high-temperature and corrosive environments. Common applications include aircraft exhaust systems, heat exchangers, chemical equipment, and expansion joints. Its good formability and oxidation resistance make it ideal for a variety of industrial applications.
321H Stainless Steel Sheet
Applications: 321H stainless steel sheet is the preferred material for applications requiring higher high-temperature strength and sensitization resistance. It is commonly used in heat treatment equipment, industrial furnaces, boiler components, and automotive exhaust systems. Its higher carbon content gives it greater structural integrity under high-stress conditions.
