AISI 316 stainless steel round bar is an austenitic alloy with excellent corrosion resistance due to its molybdenum content, particularly in chloride-rich and marine environments. This non-magnetic bar offers good strength and toughness, allowing for welding and fabrication, and is used in applications such as food equipment, chemical processing, medical devices, and building structures. Similar to the European grade 1.4401, its low-carbon variant, 316L, is preferred for heavily welded components.
