Heat treatment processes for 42CrMo4 and 42CrMo alloy steel plates:
1. Hot Working Specification
Heating Temperature: 1150 ~ 1200°C
Starting Temperature: 1130 ~ 1180°C
Ending Temperature: > 850°C
Cooling: Slow cooling for diameters > 50mm.
2. Normalizing Specification
Normalizing Temperature: 850 ~ 900°C
Cooling: Air cooling after removal from the furnace.
3. High-Temperature Tempering Specification
Tempering Temperature: 680 ~ 700°C
Cooling: Air cooling after removal from the furnace.
4. Quenching and Tempering Specification
Preheating Temperature: 680 ~ 700°C
Quenching Temperature: 840 ~ 880°C
Cooling Method: Oil cooling
Tempering Temperature: 580°C
Cooling: Water or oil cooling
Hardness: ≤ 217 HBW
5. Subcritical Quenching and Toughening Treatment Specification
Quenching Temperature: 900°C
Tempering Temperature: 560°C
Hardness: (37 ± 1) HRC
6. Induction Hardening and Tempering Specification
Quenching Temperature: 900°C
Tempering Temperature: 150 ~ 180°C
Hardness: 54 ~ 60 HRC
