ASTM A871 is intended for tubular structures and supporting components or other suitable uses. It is a high-strength, low-alloy steel plate that is classified into two grades, Gr60 and Gr65, to meet specified mechanical property requirements.
It can be delivered in the hot-rolled, normalized, or quenched and tempered condition.
